How Long Will the Process Take?
We try to deal with every complaint as quickly as we can. It is difficult to be precise about how long it will take to deal with a particular complaint because the Ombudsman has to allow the public body to report to her about the complaint and sometimes that may lead to further correspondence with the public body or the complainant before the Ombudsman can draw conclusions. Needless to say some complaints can be complex and long running because of the nature of the complaint while others may be very straightforward and can be dealt with in a matter of weeks. We will make every effort to give you regular updates on how your complaint is progressing.
