STRUCTURE AND ORGANISATION

The present staffing structure of the Office of the Ombudsman is as follows: Director, four Senior Investigators, 14 Investigators/Assistant Principals and 24 support staff. Each of three of the Senior Investigators is responsible for the work carried out on a number of the bodies which fall within the Ombudsman's remit. They also manage the functions of information technology, personnel, training, legal affairs, finance and administration. The fourth Senior Investigator is secretary to the Public Offices Commission. Investigators carry out examinations and investigations on the bodies which are allocated to them and they are also involved in the administration of the functions mentioned above. One Investigator is assigned to the information technology function, two Investigators are assigned to the Public Offices Commission and one investigator is assigned to the Referendum Commission. Support staff operate within the sections dealing with complaints or in the area of general administration.
